I heard he was not WASP enough for the firm.

34: I like the dictionary support and I agree 100%, but what does one call a 2009 J.D. grad who passes the bar but ha no client to advise or conduct lawsuits for? Besides "fucked". Linguists need to keep up with the changing economy and come up with some intermediary term, like Lawyer-Lite.

Paralegals are to lawyers, as nurses are to doctors. Why be an attorney-light? Why be a doctor-light? Growing up I was always told to go hard or go home. Oh, and 13, go fetch me my coffee.

120: As someone alluded to before, the reason that PH can start in the fall is because it only hired females who contractually obligated themselves to use their monogrammed PH coat hanger should the time come that they are pregnant. Imagine the health cost savings realized by PH (no paid maternity leave, and no dependents to insure). PH has its shit down.

Let me sum it up for you noobs that suck at keeping up with ATL memes:

I detrimentally relied on ass lobster while the dow was down with guys from high school thinking about my monogrammed coat hanger in my Lexis.

Whenever I see the PE avatar I just skip over the trite repetitive banter masquerading as intellectualism, pseudo, at best.

I maintain that PE is either a 2L who should be focusing on being in top 1% of this 4th tier school, or is a first year associate in some comfy litigation group.

In either case, he's a stupid clown, as evidenced by the fact that he's been called out on a number of things for which he professes wisdom in, but in fact has no clue on.

A "Howrey" used in a sentence:

"Howrey doing, Biglaw?"
"Not good Lois, not good."

Not passing in California is a good thing, as it commits you to living in that crumbling state for at least 5 years until reciprocity kicks in with those states that aren't infested with the plague of illegals and fruity-cake liberals.

Let's face reality folks:
1) If you didn't put in 2 months of solid studying, you most likely will not pass.
2) The motivation to study came from the fact that I had a nice job waiting for me in September. Moving back in with Mom & Dad for an indefinite amount of time after taking the bar would make me quite depressed. Bleak outlook = bleak performance.
3) You must be delusional if you don't think that the passage rates will not go down significantly in response to economic outlook for attorneys. Even if the examiners grade the same, the curved will be adjusted, as necessary. 83% first time taker passage rates are a thing of the past.

If I were a girl taking the exam, I would dress up provocatively on the days of the exam, to distract your competitors. That's right, they are your competitors and you are all vying for very limited spots on the pass sheet. You think you're nervous now? Until the bar results come out you will be the most nervous you have ever been, especially those who have positions waiting in BigLaw... let's not be delusional -- if you don't pass, BigLaw will show you the door. No second or third passing chances allowed in this economy.

You sad fucks... I feel so bad for you.
