"Highly credentialed lawyers are learning that the profession of law is now the business of law..."

One thing to think about is considering an MBA, or, like I did, Master of Science in Legal Administration (MSLA). These degrees not only help you find a position above the junior associate, but also help lawyers understand that law is a business (unless one works for the Feds.)

Firms do recognize these degrees, and you will benefit personally from the intrinsic knowledge of the business of law.
