UB offers great opportunities for those students who wish to work in and around Baltimore and those students who are at or near the top of the class. There are a lot of well-connected alumni in Maryland who enthusiastically support students. And there are quite a few alums working at big firms or in the federal government who are willing to move mountains for students with talent.

We are and see ourselves as the hard-working underdogs of the Maryland legal community. Maryland grads compete in the saturated D.C. market while we run below the radar in Baltimore the rest of the state. We turn out attorneys with a blue collar sensibility and dominate much of state and local government, public interest, small/medium firms, and in-house counsel offices. Very, very few of our graduates move on to “big law”, so don’t come here if that’s what’s you want to do.
