Full-Court Press For Michael Jordan's Baby Mama Drama

Who's claiming she's dribbled Michael Jordan's balls this time? Is he the father or isn't he? Let's discuss...

Another day, another paternity suit for a basketball legend, and this time, it’s some regular old baby mama drama (not this delusional “LeBromination” business). Apparently Michael Jordan is the latest NBA star to fall prey to a scandalous request for a paternity test. Of course, this is nothing new for His Airness — he’s had to deal with several such allegations from women claiming they dribbled his balls.

But in this iteration of what would likely be the most-watched Maury Povich episode of all time, thanks to the wonders of the internet, we’ve got a teenager with a video message plea for more Twitter followers, and also for his alleged father to take a more active role in his life….

Before we get down to the nitty gritty of this case, here’s the YouTube video in question, posted by Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, aka Taj Jordan, but more commonly known online as “Michael Jordan’s Secret Son”:

Aww, how touching. The Instagram shout out was what really brought a tear to my eye. TMZ has all the details:

Pamela Smith claims in her paternity suit — filed February 6 in Fulton County, GA and obtained by TMZ — she became pregnant after having sex with Jordan in 1995. Pamela gave birth to Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds — aka Taj — in June 1996. BTW, Jordan was married to Juanita Vanoy at the time he allegedly had sex with Smith.

Pamela says in her legal docs she welcomes a paternity test to prove Jordan’s the dad. She wants full custody and child support. She also wants Jordan to pay the kid’s medical expenses.

Pamela also wants the judge to make Jordan the boy’s legal last name.

Michael Jordan’s lawyer, John Mayoue, whose list of celebrity clients includes Sean Combs, Chris Rock, and Usher, today filed a motion to dismiss the paternity suit. After all, it’d be pretty hard for MJ to be the father when Taj’s paternity had already been “conclusively established.” Because really, that sort of thing is only possible in a land where people thought making Space Jam was a good idea.

After calling Smith’s paternity suit — a document that her son allegedly begged her to file — a “shameless, bad faith attempt to abuse the legal system,” the Hall of Famer’s spokeswoman released this statement:

“Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father. He also filed a counterclaim seeking sanctions for the false claims made against him. It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation.”

Swoosh! As another MJ once said: “He’s just a [boy] who claims that I am the one. But the kid is not my son.”
