Bonuses Continue To Rain Down On Magic Circle Associates

Lots of money Brexiting to the U.S.

We’ve now heard from everyone in the Magic Circle that plays in America. As one might expect, Allen & Overy joined LinklatersClifford Chance, and Freshfields in adopting the Cravath bonus scale for their associates. Slaughter & May, of course, eschews placing an office in the Colonies.

This is surely the biggest story of the English reaching out and offering a lifetime of riches to an American this week.

As per usual, we’ll show you the Cravath scale in case you haven’t had it tattooed on your forearm yet:

Class of 2017 — $15,000 (pro-rated)
Class of 2016 — $15,000
Class of 2015 — $25,000
Class of 2014 — $50,000
Class of 2013 — $65,000
Class of 2012 — $80,000
Class of 2011 — $90,000
Class of 2010 — $100,000
Class of 2009 and more senior — $100,000

Hopefully this bonus will go a long way to shoring up morale after a young associate was hospitalized with exhaustion this week.
