HOGAN LOVELLS — MEMO — 2022 SALARY INCREASES
Dear All, good morning.
As discussed during last week’s US associate town hall, as part of our regular process we have been reviewing US associate compensation, in light of, among other factors, developments in the US market. We are pleased to announce the following adjustment to the base compensation scale for US associates, as well as an enhancement to our year-end bonus program, recognizing the important contribution our associates continue to make to our firm and its clients.
Adjusted base compensation scale for US associates:
| Class | Previous base salary | Adjusted base salary | |||
| Class of 2021 | $205,000 | $215,000 | |||
| Class of 2020 | $215,000 | $225,000 | |||
| Class of 2019 | $240,000 | $250,000 | |||
| Class of 2018 | $275,000 | $295,000 | |||
| Class of 2017 | $305,000 | $345,000 | |||
| Class of 2016 | $330,000 | $370,000 | |||
| Class of 2015 | $350,000 | $400,000 | |||
| Class of 2014+ | $365,000 | $415,000 |
The base compensation adjustment is retroactive to January 1, 2022 and will be paid in March. US associates will need to be employed and in good standing to be eligible for the base compensation adjustment. Base compensation will not be adjusted in Colorado Springs, Miami, and Minneapolis.
Year-end Bonus Program:
We have also adjusted part of our year-end bonus program effective this billable year. Our US associates have always had the opportunity for increased bonus awards to reflect outstanding contributions. We are adjusting that program to create greater opportunities to reward these contributions, as outlined below:
| Total billable hours | Additional % of Year-end bonus |
| 2100-2199 | 5% |
| 2200-2299 | 10% |
| 2300-2399 | 15% |
| 2400+ | 20% |
When determining eligibility, we will count Diversity & Inclusion hours and Pro Bono hours in accordance with our policies. US associates on leave during a portion of the year, who work reduced time schedules, or those who started between November 1 and July 31 will be eligible for pro-rated amounts.
