New Biglaw Perk Hotness? Dogs

Welcome to the office Fido!

Soft sofa. Furniture background. Dog lies on turquoise velour sofa. Cozy and comfortable home interior.Wellness has taken on an increased import at elite law firms. Happier associates are better at their jobs, so the push is on to make sure that wellbeing is prioritized along with billable hours.

Magic Circle firm Slaughter and May has reportedly taken this push to the dogs, and it’s paws-itively delightful:

Deborah Finkler, who last month became the firm’s first female managing partner, commented: “I have long been an advocate of having our dogs in the office and so am delighted that we are trialling Slaughter and May’s first ever Bring your Dog to Work Day.”

Finkler, a dog owner herself, continued:

“The benefits of all animals and especially dogs to mental health, morale and alleviating stress are widely recognised, and I also hope that the trial makes for a fun and sociable day.”

As reported by Legal Cheek, Slaughter isn’t the only firm peddling doggie cuddles as part a wellness program: Gowling WLG, Norton Rose Fulbright and Eversheds Sutherland have launched similar programs.

That deserves a round of a-paws.
