Admitted in Pennsylvania and not sure what your CLE requirements are? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered.

I am an attorney admitted in the state of Pennsylvania. How many credits do I need to complete? You only need 12 hours of CLE credit per year!

Do I have an ethics requirement? Of the 12 required hours, two need to be ethics.

How many general credits do I need? That leaves 10 hours of general credit that you need to fulfill.

Do I need live credits? Six credits must be completed via live, in-person courses, and attorneys may not carry over credits into the next reporting period.

When is my CLE deadline? That depends. The Pennsylvania State Bar assigned you to one of three groups. The deadline for each group is as follows:

  • Group 1: April 30
  • Group 2: Aug. 31
  • Group 3: Dec. 31

Are there any special requirements for newly admitted attorneys? Yes. Newly admitted attorneys must complete a Pennsylvania-specific Bridge the Gap course prior to their first CLE compliance deadline. You can find more information here.
