Live CLE in Virginia: An In-Depth Review

While many states require some amount of live CLE as part of their attorney compliance, not all states define “live” in the same way.  In states like New Jersey, live attendance means physical attendance at traditional in-person events. In Virginia, however, attorneys have a little more flexibility in the ways they can complete their CLE requirements. With the October 31 deadline for Virginia attorneys rapidly approaching, here’s a refresher on how to get all twelve credits done in time!

Live

Of the twelve total credits needed each year, Virginia requires at least four be completed with live courses.  Live courses can be either in-person courses or live webcasts that feature the ability to interact with the presenter during the course.  Attorneys can decide what works best for their schedule and opt to watch all their credits from the comfort of their home or office.
