Live Conversation With Keith Lee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-485806 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/12\/lawyer-smack-small-logo-300x75.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"75\" \/>Keith Lee, founder of Associate&#8217;s Mind and Lawyer Slack, is one of my favorite snarky <del datetime=\"2017-12-07T11:28:05+00:00\">bastards<\/del> lawyers. He also has a demonstrated record of identifying successful online trends before others do, especially online <em>lawyer<\/em> trends. Keith was blogging and using social to build an audience before it was cool and his most recent project Lawyer Slack, which he&#8217;s been building over the past two years, has turned out to be big hit.<\/p>\n<p>Keith wrote a post on <em>Associate&#8217;s Mind<\/em> back in January <a href=\"https:\/\/associatesmind.com\/2017\/01\/13\/what-is-lawyer-slack\/\">explaining Lawyer Slack<\/a> and giving some stats on traction &#8212; at the time roughly 10,000 messages a week. That number is now <em>over 15,000<\/em> messages a week! What I noticed when I jumped into Lawyer Slack was that there was always chatter, even at bizarre hours. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawyersmack.com\/welcome-to-lawyersmack\/\">Last week, Keith announced that Lawyer Slack would be changing its name to LawyerSmack<\/a> and he planned to launch several new community tools to build out Lawyer Slack into something even bigger. As part of that change, LawyerSmack will now be a paid membership ($99 a year, $79 for the first year), which Keith compares to paying dues to a Bar Association, except LawyerSmack is less expensive and events run every day.
