Last week, NetDocuments announced that Ice Miller launched the vendor’s native cloud platform remotely during a pandemic. It’s the sort of announcement we’re used to seeing from NetDocuments, who have been on a tear over the last couple years adding clients at a fantastic clip. When I sat down with NetDocuments at ILTACON, they informed me that they’ve added around 300 new clients in Q2 alone.<\/p>\n
It all goes to underscore the fact that we’re in the death throes of lawyer resistance to the cloud. On-prem servers tucked away in closets aren’t cutting it in the modern era and firms seem to be embracing the reality that the best way to keep their clients’ data secure is to put all their eggs in one basket and watch that basket — or as the case may be, make Microsoft watch that basket for them. And that level of security is central to the NetDocuments value proposition. It’s why the company touts its successful FedRAMP certification offering a literal seal of approval to potential customers craving security guarantees.<\/span><\/p>\n While its security is important, faith in the cloud got a big boost from the pandemic. With remote work arrangements tasks are being assigned to a truly national if not global workforce. Managing that work flow requires a system built for that. NetDocuments told me that they’ve really worked to build something with the look and feel of an activity center, where you can easily delegate administrative access to an assistant with a click, where your documents go with you and if you’re disconnected, you still have them.<\/p>\n And while I’ve been writing this, NetDocuments just announced bringing on a leading Chilean law firm.
