Bill Barr Has The Mueller Report, Special Counsel Probe Ends

Doesn't look like any more indictments are coming from Mueller.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has “concluded his investigation” into the Trump campaign and interference by Russia in the 2016 election. The report has been submitted to Attorney General William Barr. Barr expects to be able to convey Mueller’s “principal conclusions” to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, as soon as this weekend.

We still don’t know what’s in the report, and we don’t know how much Barr will eventually turn over to Congress. But we already know the “principal conclusions,” because Mueller’s conclusions about those people have already either led to indictments, or not. I do not believe that there is any hope for “sealed” indictments. I think it’s unlikely that Mueller would indict somebody while leaving the scene, especially since those people he could indict might provide new information.

I also don’t think there’s going to be a lot of information that is publicly released about people who Mueller chose not to indict. Bob Mueller is no Jim Comey. He is unlikely to levy charges against people who he did not charge.

Mueller has completed his investigation without interviewing the President, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, or Jared Kushner. Why he has gone this route will be debated by… history, frankly.

Which, I believe, means that there’s not going to be anything in this report, regardless of what is released, that will change the mind of any of Trump’s supporters, or his lackeys in the Republican party. If you were hoping for Mueller to change the game on Trump, you are likely to be disappointed, whenever and whatever is eventually released from the report.

The investigation into the Trump Organization, his family, and his inaugural committee, continues in the Southern District of New York.

But Mueller — Mueller is done folks. And Donald Trump is still the President of the United States.

For my part, I thank Robert Mueller for his service.
