Is Michael Flynn's New Conspiracy-Loving Lawyer About To Withdraw His Guilty Plea?

Fingers crossed!

When Michael Flynn fired his lawyers from Covington & Burling last week, their replacement was rumored to be someone familiar to Fox News viewers. Dershowitz and Giuliani shouted, “Not it!” in unison, while Joe DiGenova and Victoria Toensing played it coy. We prayed to all the idols that it would be Gregg Jarrett, if only for the absolute insane spectacle. But it turns out that Flynn’s new counsel is former prosecutor Sidney Powell, who once graced these very pages and has gone on to author the book Creeps On a Mission about Robert Mueller and his “hand-picked a team of blatant partisans and one very unethical prosecutor—Andrew Weissmann.”

Oh, yeah, she brings the crazy!

In fact, we do not remember when former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe said, “First we F Flynn, then we F #Trump.” Because it never happened. Her Twitter feed is a BATSH*T graveyard of emoji #warcrimes.

The three stars are for General Flynn, a three star general, who has featured prominently in her tweets for years. Although, if there’s a wacko conspiracy out there, she’s tweeting about it.

There are conspiracies everywhere! Including at her local Barnes and Noble, which pretends to be out of Sidney Powell’s crucial expose on the Clinton-Obama-Mueller witch hunt WHEN SIDNEY POWELL KNOWS THEY ARE LYING!

Before Flynn’s original sentencing hearing, Powell was convinced that Judge Emmet Sullivan was going blow the lid off the Mueller team’s dirty perjury trap and bust them all for multiple Brady violations. Here’s an excerpt from her Daily Caller editorial, where she accused Robert Mueller of personally destroying Peter Strzok and Lisa Page’s phones:

Any ethical law Department of Justice official would have taken custody of all electronic devices of Strzok and Page immediately upon discovery of their extreme bias and blatant misconduct — or certainly upon their termination — and preserved all the evidence. For Mueller to destroy this evidence is blatant obstruction of justice that warrants his immediate termination. The same is true for Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein who was “overseeing” it at the time.

Mueller has shown abject contempt for the wrong court. Judge Sullivan is a real judge who believes in the rule of law and has the integrity to enforce it equally. The evidence strongly suggests Mueller violated Brady, destroyed or suppressed evidence, and obstructed justice in violation of 18 USC §1512(c). He has disgraced himself and the Department of Justice. Mueller’s time is up.

Is there perhaps a conspiracy at Starbucks to swap Sydney Powell’s Decaf Hazelnut Latte for straight espresso? Is Robert Mueller IN ON IT?

Unfortunately for Ms. Powell, her expectations for Judge Sullivan were too high. Instead of arresting the entire FBI leadership, the judge told Michael Flynn that he could either go cooperate a whole lot more, or he could go to jail. At which point Powell quit tweeting about His Honor every three hours and went back to Soros-baiting.

Judge Sullivan was also highly unimpressed with the sentencing memorandum filed by Flynn’s old lawyers where he took responsibility for lying to the FBI about his contacts with the Russian ambassador by … blaming the FBI. So a new lawyer who has spent the past two years spreading conspiracy theories about the Special Counsel and the FBI might seem an odd choice.

Sadly, we will not get to see Flynn attempt to withdraw his guilty plea five minutes before sentencing. Powell told The Hill:

I’m honored to be representing General Flynn, who I’ve long considered an American hero. The General and his family want to thank everyone across the country for their cards and contributions to his legal defense fund. He is going to continue to cooperate with the government, pursuant to his plea agreement.

Perhaps General Flynn is expecting a pardon, and doesn’t even care what happens at this trial. Perhaps, as CNN suggests, he holds his previous counsel responsible for his botched FARA filing and doesn’t want them representing him as a witness in the upcoming trial of his former associate Bijan Kian. Or perhaps he just wants someone who will do the work cheap. But there is one person who heartily approves of his choice.

I beg your pardon!
