If you have been looking to go in-house, and want a remote role based in Texas, this is the opportunity for you! Our client, a commercial lines insurance company, seeks 1 to 2 in-house counsel for Texas. This is a fully remote role! The winning candidate will have preferably, 7 or more years of insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience handling commercial auto and trucking negligence matters. Specifically, you need significant deposition experience, including deposing doctors, engineers, and other experts. The client's policies all exceed $1M, so these are "high end" cases. You will be working with adjusters, and can try cases if you want, but they are usually tried by outside counsel. There is a case cap of 50 cases, and you will have a designated paralegal and legal assistant. The Managing Attorney, who is based in Florida, has made it clear that she is not a "micro-manager" and you will be autonomous in virtually every way. This role provides a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, including fully paid health care insurance and a 10% match on 401K, for which you are eligible at 6 months. This role can sit anywhere in Texas but Houston, with a preference for Dallas and you must be a member of the Texas Bar.
