Law Grad/Exotic Dancer/Gigolo Takes The Main Stage On 'The Bachelorette'

You really can do anything with a law degree.

Perhaps you aren’t a fan of ABC’s The Bachelorette. We’ll do you a favor and dumb it down for you even further than the network already has. It’s a show where rejects women who almost found their true reality TV loves on The Bachelor come to get their second helping of shame from 25 brand-new contestants. Almost every year, one of the male contestants vying for The Bachelorette’s heart is a lawyer, and this year is no different.

For example, back in 2013, one of the contestants on The Bachelorette was an assistant U.S. attorney who once clerked for a federal judge. Mmm, get a whiff of that prestige. This time, there’s another law grad on the show, but all we can smell is… sweat, cologne, and desperation. Why’s that?

Josh Seiter, the latest Bachelorette contestant with a legal education, lists his occupation as “Law Student/Exotic Dancer” on his ABC profile for the show. He then goes on to list his greatest accomplishment to date as “[g]raduating from law school.” Hmm, it seems like someone’s got stripper glitter on the brain. Since one can’t be a law student and a law school graduate at the same time, we did some digging and found out that Seiter is a 2013 graduate of the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. We also looked him up on the Illinois ARDC site, and discovered that he’s not licensed as a lawyer.

If he’s not an attorney, what’s he been doing in addition to taking off his clothes for cash? Instead of billing hours, Seiter has been making his way around the reality TV circuit, first as a cast member on E!’s Escape Club last summer, where he was in search of a year-long vacation. Back then, he preferred to be called by his stripper name, Andrew Dean.

At the time, this is why Andrew Dean/Josh Seiter wanted to be on the show:

Escaping from my life appealed to me because since law school I haven’t had the opportunity to reflect on what it is I truly want to do in life on terms of a career. Though I don’t want to practice law I am unsure what exactly I love enough to make my career and everyday job.

Seiter also told producers that he’d spent $180,000 on his law school education, but he neglected to tell them he’d been working for Cowboys 4 Angels, an elite male escort service that was featured on Showtime’s Gigolos. Perhaps that’s why Seiter doesn’t lament having law school debt — his nightly rate was more than some Biglaw partners charge hourly.

We wonder which “high-profile firms” Seiter worked at while he was in law school. Perhaps Chicago firms Kirkland & Ellis and Jenner & Block decided to take this bad boy for a spin. A quick review of Seiter’s LinkedIn profile reveals… no such high-profile firms.

Here’s a mash-up of Josh Seiter strutting his stuff on Escape Club and The Bachelorette. It looks like he needs someone to suck his dicta. Best of luck to him in his quest to make that happen on national television. You really can do anything with a law degree.
