Biglaw Firm Raises Salaries, But $$$ Amount Remains Unclear
At least these associates know raises are coming...
Baker & McKenzie is raising associate salaries, but hasn’t decided — or maybe just refuses to reveal — what those raises will be.
In an email sent to associates this evening, managing partner Rick Hammett announced that the Baker & McKenzie compensation scale would be raised for all U.S. offices, but left wide open the possibility those raises would be different based on office, as the managing partner for each market will be communicating the dollar amount separately.

The good news is that raises are coming for Baker associates, and they “will be commensurate with the extensively matched salary level in the legal industry that made the press last week.” We are happy to help hardworking associates get paid whenever we can, and here’s a handy cheat sheet if a managing parter in a specific office seems to be out of touch with what the market is dictating.
