Firm Announces Raises... Kinda Screws Over The Older Folks

Older associates are getting the shaft in this raise announcement.

BROWN RUDNICK — MEMORANDUM — BASE SALARY RATES

We are pleased to announce today that, consistent with our ongoing review of market conditions, we are increasing the annualized base salary rate in our New York office to the amounts described below, effective as of July 1, 2016:

New York Base Salary

1st year               $180,000
2nd year               $190,000
3rd year               $210,000
4th year               $235,000
5th year               $260,000
6th year               $280,000
7th/7+ year           $300,000

We continue to monitor the markets for associate compensation in all our other cities, including both in the US and in Europe.  We will advise you if there are any further changes to our salary structure.  We also continue to monitor income partner compensation, which is a matter usually addressed on an annual basis.
