Check out the update to our story -- there are lots of reasons to be pissed...
I know there have been some questions recently regarding whether the Firm
was planning to adjust our associate compensation. We have decided to make
the adjustments as indicated below. More specifics will follow.
Henry Walker
Associate Compensation
Effective July 1, 2016
At Kilpatrick Townsend, we value our associates and are committed to their
development and advancement. Accordingly, we remain dedicated to
compensating our associates competitively based on practice area,
geographic market and individual performance.
Effective July 1, our starting salary for first-year associates in
California, Denver, New York City and Washington, D.C. will increase to
$180,000. Our starting salary for first-year associates on certain practice
teams in Atlanta will increase to $155,000. Our starting salary for
first-year associates on our patent prosecution and patent litigation teams
in Atlanta will remain $160,000. Associates in these offices/practice areas
will also receive salary adjustments depending on the location, experience
level and performance of the associate. Eligible associates will receive
salary adjustments in the coming weeks retroactive to July 1, 2016.
We do not anticipate raising billing rates due to compensation increases
and are not currently raising our minimum billable hour requirement. We
continue to expect all attorneys at the Firm to be fully engaged and highly
productive. In this highly competitive marketplace, the success of the Firm
depends on all of us continuing to consistently exceed client expectations
and deliver good value.
