Stats of The Week: Lawyers Not Exactly Top Of Mind For @realDonaldTrump

Twitter, Trump, lawyers, SCOTUS, whatever.

stat imageWe now have a searchable archive of 16,000+ Tweets from @realDonaldTrump since 2009. It is probably safe to assume that the entire existing White House media apparatus — press secretary, press conferences, press corps, etc. — will be immediately supplanted by Trump’s Twitter feed. So while we sit around waiting for him to assume office, this archive is a treasure trove of our incoming President-For-Life’s hot takes on just about everything, including a few nuggets about the Supreme Court and the legal profession.

The search utility for the archive can be found here. If you would like to see all Tweets where Trump refers to “lawyer” or “lawyers” see here. Surprisingly, for a guy who has been involved in at least 3,500 lawsuits, there are only 22 such Tweets. For comparison, “Rosie O’Donnell” get 56 mentions. (The number of references Trump makes to “law firm” is zero. Sad!)

There are only 17 references to the Supreme Court. This one is representative:
