Partner Orders All Attorneys To Sleep At Firm Due To Treacherous Road Conditions

This is something that we've never, ever seen a law firm do before.

Sleep tight under your desk, lil’ lawyer.

Yesterday, the weather on the East Coast wasn’t exactly very nice. We experienced all types of precipitation ranging from snow to sleet to freezing rain, and the entire forecast made for a very dangerous commute on icy roads. What’s a law firm to do to protect the safety of its employees? While many law firms closed and allowed attorneys and staff members alike to telecommute and others allowed everyone to leave before the roads became too bad, some left firms kept their doors open and expected everyone to show up and leave on time, despite the treacherous conditions.

One law firm came up with a unique way to protect all of its employees from the elements, and it’s something that we’ve never, ever seen a law firm do before:

Before you become too enraged at the very thought of having to sleep at your law firm at a partner’s order, you should know that this was apparently a joke. A source says this particular partner is a bit of a “smart ass” — and it certainly shows.

For what it’s worth, we hear that while almost all attorneys left early yesterday (if they even showed up to the office in the first place), staff members at this firm weren’t allowed to leave early, despite the fact that the roads were like sheets of ice. Hmm, perhaps they should have been allowed to sleep at the firm for their safety…
