Law Professor's Terrifying Uber Ride
This sounds awful.
Noted law professor Nancy Leong found herself in a terrifying situation last week during what should have been a typical Uber ride to the airport.
Instead she found herself trapped in a car with a driver that insisted on taking her to a “hotel” as he pulled off of the highway. Leong proceeded to scream and bang on the car windows until some bystanders took notice. Once other eyes were on the car, the Uber driver finally let Leong out of the car.

Leong also noted “how terrifying this was.” And said she “was about 10 seconds from putting my foot through the back passenger window” to get out of what was obviously an awful situation.
As the New York Post reports, Uber has taken steps to remedy the situation and the driver in question has been blocked from Uber:
“What Nancy described is awful and unacceptable,” said a company spokesman. “This driver has been blocked from the app and we are investigating.”
Thank goodness Professor Leong only has a scary story to tell after her experience.
