Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is currently taking over theaters nationwide in “RBG,” the documentary that focuses on her life’s work of pursuing equality for women in America, but if you’re unable to catch the flick on the silver screen, you may soon be able to watch a show about the Supreme Court’s first two women justices from the comfort of your home.

Pick up your remotes, because a drama about Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor will be coming to your TV sometime soon.

As noted in this morning’s Supreme Court Brief newsletter, actress Alyssa Milano is behind the project, and her company, Peace Productions, will be teaming up with PatMa Productions to develop the limited series, which will be based in large part on Linda Hirshman’s book, “Sisters in Law” (affiliate link), a great read about the justices’ friendship and how the social impact of their jurisprudence has shaped the high court and the country. Here’s how the New York Times Bestselling book is described:

The relationship between Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg—Republican and Democrat, Christian and Jew, western rancher’s daughter and Brooklyn girl—transcends party, religion, region, and culture. Strengthened by each other’s presence, these groundbreaking judges, the first and second to serve on the highest court in the land, have transformed the Constitution and America itself, making it a more equal place for all women.

According to Variety, which first reported the news, Milano will be the executive producer on the limited series, alongside Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi of PatMa. Casting for the show has not yet been announced.

We can’t wait for additional details about this television series to be announced. When we have more information, our readers will be the first to know. Stay tuned.
