Robert Kraft Is Turning To Biglaw To Fight Prostitution Charges

Quinn Emanuel doesn't usually handle misdemeanors, but, here we are.

You don’t usually think of calling a Biglaw firm and incurring their correspondingly big bills when you are facing misdemeanor charges. But you are not owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft. Kraft, as you’ll recall, is facing two charges of solicitation in Florida, which spurred one of the greatest Above the Law headlines of all time. Kraft’s arrest was part of a human trafficking sting. He’s alleged to have visited the “Orchids of Asia Day Spa” and paid workers for sexual acts.

Now Law.com is reporting Kraft is putting together a top notch legal team to fight the misdemeanor counts.  Quinn Emanuel’s Bill Burck is joining Jeffrey Epstein’s former attorney, Jack Goldberger of Atterbury, Goldberger & Weiss. Maybe you wouldn’t want the… connotations of having the same attorney as convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, but, well, at least you know he has experience.

While presumably the legal stakes are a bit lower in this case than Burck’s other notable representations (like former White House Counsel Don McGahn and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon), you can be sure the public’s attention will still be focused on Kraft’s actions.
