Creating An 'All Girls Network'

Creating the network you need.

It is challenging to start a career in the legal industry, especially for women. In what was believed to be a male-controlled community, how can female lawyers and legal counsels make a name for themselves?

I sit down with Michelle Browning Coughlin to talk about making a voice not only as a female lawyer, but also as a working mom, in the legal industry. Michelle shares her success story of building an all-girls network that started with MothersEsquire. She also discusses the different programs that MothersEsquire started to promote gender equality.

The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law brand focused on the challenges women, people of color, LGBTQIA, and other diverse populations face in the legal industry. Our name comes from none other than the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative collar) she wore when delivering dissents from the bench. It’s a reminder that even when we aren’t winning, we’re still a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Happy listening!
