Cooley Associates Are In A Really 'Unfortunate Situation' After Being Laid Off

It's not a great time to be out of a job.

Those associates’ profiles were removed from the firm’s website almost immediately and given three months’ of severance. “Before the pandemic, [associate] severance would be between three and six months,” Loanzon said. “Some firms can be more generous, especially if it’s an associate who has put more time into a firm and created more value for the firm.”
