Roberta Kaplan Vows Trump's 'Going To Pay' After Mega Millions Verdict

That $83 million verdict looms large.

981450Unless you’ve been on a silent retreat since Friday afternoon, you’ve undoubtedly heard about the $83.3 million verdict that jurors returned in the defamation case against Donald Trump. But, given the hot trend of right-wing Republicans found liable for defamation then declaring bankruptcy in an effort to avoid giving plaintiffs money, you might be wondering if E. Jean Carroll will actually see those millions and millions of dollars. (It’s a total of $88 million between Friday’s verdict and the $5 million verdict from last year’s case when a jury found Trump liable for defamation as well as sexual abuse.)

Well, Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, said her client will “completely” get the cash. On Friday, Kaplan appeared on Anderson Cooper’s show on CNN and predicted one way or another, the former president will have to pay up.

“I think he’s going to have to pay and whether it requires him to sell something or to put a lien on something to get a loan, that’s his problem, not ours,” she said. “He’s going to pay.”

And if Trump keeps on defaming Carroll? Well, it “could cost him a lot more money.”
