The Future (Of Legal Tech) Is Female

Evolve Law and Above the Law hosted 10/20/30 Networking Event: Getting Women A Seat At The Table last Wednesday night at ABA TECHSHOW.

Evolve Law and Above the Law hosted 10/20/30 Networking Event: Getting Women A Seat At The Table last Wednesday night at ABA TECHSHOW. The event drew 80+ attendees, and raised over $700 dollars for the Domestic Violence Legal Aid Clinic of Chicago.

The event was a hit, because there are already so many women dominating the legal tech field. Female founders and CEOs include: LawToolBox’s Carol-Lynn Grow (our event co-creator), Headnote’s Sarah Schaaf, Allegory Law’s Alma Asay, Digitory Legal’s Catherine Krow, FactBox’s Lecia Kaslofsky, RayNa Corp’s Lori Gonzalez, LawPay’s Amy Porter, and Traklight’s Mary Juetten. Women line the executive teams at Smokeball, Clio, CASEpeer, Lawline, Zola Suite, MyCase, PerfectIt, and here at Breaking Media. And this barely scratches the surface.

This is not a coincidence. Legal innovators break the mold of how law is practiced, and see the future that many of us will adopt. It is not at all surprising that many of the innovators are themselves mold-breakers. Bob Ambrogi declared 2017 the year of “women in legal tech.

Thank you to all who promoted, shared, and attended the event. Special thanks to Catherine Sanders Reach of The Chicago Bar Foundation for its promotion, and to Carol-Lynn Grow of LawToolBox for the support and belief in the event.
