Pie, roads and sand: Why you should attend Law Jobs for Humans

Is our Law Jobs for Humans event for you?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably already heard about the Law Jobs for Humans – the legal careers event that I’m putting on with Above the Law.

If you’re wondering whether you’re the type of person that should come, see if any of the following resonate:

  1. No more pie. Just like the old joke about how the law firm career track is like a pie eating contest, the notion that after seven to ten years of two-thousand-billable-hour-years your reward is twenty years of two-thousand-billable-hour-years seems ludicrous to you.
  2. The road not taken. You were or are that law student who was constantly looking for a different path. OCI held no interest for you. Perhaps you even uttered the blasphemous words “I didn’t go to law school to become a lawyer.”
  3. Heads in sand. You’ve noticed that the world is being rebuilt by technology and wonder why it seems that everyone in legal either (a) is oblivious to the impact that technology might have on the legal sector, or (b) doesn’t seem to care.

If any of these describes you, you are are prime candidate to join us at Law Jobs for Humans. Law Jobs for Humans is a first-of-its-kind conference designed to refine the contours of the law jobs of tomorrow. Beyond some group mentoring and other fun activities, we are centering the event around the following three elements: (1) a fast-paced runway-style conversation about how a handful of employees who are currently working in the law jobs of tomorrow found their roles, (2) a panel of employers talking about what they’re looking for in candidates for the law jobs of tomorrow, and (3) a group of academics talking about how they’re teaching and training the next generation of legal professionals.

If understanding and capitalizing on the employment opportunities of tomorrow’s legal landscape is your bag, join us in Chicago us on April 24, 2019 for Law Jobs for Humans.
