US News Rank
What do these ratings mean?
The ATL School and Firm Insiders Survey asks self-identified current students, alumni, and practicing lawyers to rate major aspects of life at their law school (academics, social life, clinical training, career services, financial aid advising) and/or law firm (compensation, hours, morale, culture, training). We then translate these ratings into letter grades, where the mean score for each particular ratings category is the equivalent of a “B.”
We require a minimum threshold of responses for each institution before we publish any survey-based ratings content. Using a standard formula for statistical validity, we adhere to a threshold that gives us an 85% confidence level and a 10% margin of error. The precise threshold number will of course vary depending on the size of the individual institution. For example, for a law firm of 1,000 attorneys, we would require 50 responses in order to publish ratings for the firm.

Insider Reviews
from students and alumni of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law
It is better than Case and cheaper as long as you plan on staying in Cleveland.
Alumni
Excellent professors; was very happy with my experience at C|M.
Alumni
Obviously not a top-ranked institution, but if you’re planning to stay in the Cleveland area after graduating, there will be plenty of opportunities. Their legal writing department’s reputation is very strong in the community. I was very happy with my experience there and would highly recommend it.
Alumni
Especially if you’re considering public sector work and/or staying in the Cleveland metro area, this is an excellent law school. I was very well prepared for my practice with the Federal government.
Alumni
Cleveland Marshall, like all third-tier schools, is what you make of it. Out of the group of friends I had there, I am not at all surprised where different people ended up. Those of us that were bright and driven have done well. The rest, not as much. If you want to practice law (or get into politics) in NE Ohio, Cleveland Marshall is a very good choice. If you want to practice in NYC, you have to be very talented, driven, intelligent, and lucky.
Alumni
Cleveland-Marshall is a city school and is in the third tier. In my opinion, however, it has huge advantages. Cleveland is still an extremely powerful law firm city. Squire Sanders, Jones Day, Baker Hostetler, and countless other firms still have large presences here and they like graduates from Cleveland-Marshall. I am a 2L and will be working as a summer associate in Cleveland at Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister, a 350 person firm. Landing this job was a combination of good grades and being in a city where the relative competition is low.
2L
Small class size lends itself to more (useful) interaction amongst students and professors.
