The Chicago Sun-Times has the latest news about Judge Joseph Polito, who the paper has been covering for a while (gavel bang: ABA Journal):
Instead of deliberating law, a 69-year-old Will County judge spent time deliberating the next pornographic website to visit on the computer in his judicial chambers, a state probe spurred by a Sun-Times investigation alleged Friday.

Apparently this wasn’t an occasional, “whoops, I clicked a bad advertisement and now I’m at a sketchy website” type situation. Judge Polito allegedly made specific efforts to circumvent the county web filter so he could get his daily boob fix. The scandal has been brewing for more than a year, ever since the Sun-Times acquired records through a Freedom of Information Act request that showed 243 unsuccessful attempts to access adult websites from his computer over a six-month period starting in 2010.
But on other occasions, he was allegedly able to get through the filter. So, now, what we’ve all been waiting for. Here are some of the sites Judge Polito visited at the courthouse, according to the allegations in the ethics complaint against him:
The records showed Polito’s computer login and password were used at the Joliet courthouse to look up scores of websites including chubbyparade.com, hugeheavybreasts.com, bigbras-club.com, portofdebauchery.com and teenagesextape.com. Many others have names that can’t be printed in a family newspaper.
On the bright side, it could be worse. He wasn’t watching porn during a rape trial, and the allegations only suggest Judge Polito was doing this stuff in the privacy of his office, and not playing pocket pool in court, like this adorable jurist. But still, eeww. Ewww.
