The rooms in the house are well-proportioned. It’s just hard to see the decent bones beneath the profusion of floral fabric (click to enlarge):

Here’s the bathroom where Peter Madoff once bathed — which raises another issue I have with the house. According to the listing, the house has five bedrooms but only two-and-a-half bathrooms. That’s almost as criminal as the Madoff scheme itself.

Is excessive chintz grounds for an upward departure under the federal sentencing guidelines? Because if so, Peter Madoff should have received more than ten years, based on this next room….
