After I published my post yesterday on how lawyers can add value for startups, I got into an interesting discussion on Twitter with José Ancer, an Austin-based tech and VC lawyer at Miller Egan, as well as the firm’s CTO. He also blogs at Silicon Hills Lawyer where he wrote an interesting post entitled Don’t Ask Startup Lawyers For Warm Intros, which would seem to fly in the face of my post yesterday, since I recommend that lawyers try to act as conduits between startups and venture capitalists.
Rather than duke it out 140 characters at a time, I thought it would be fun to have José for a conversation about warm intros and the role of lawyers working with startups.
