Is Justice Scalia Unfit To Serve? A Published Dialogue With The Atlantic's Jeffrey Tayler

Is Justice Scalia is unfit to serve on the basis of his religious beliefs? A debate.

Content is a funny thing. A few weeks ago I published a conversation about Deflategate that went micro-viral with Boston sports fans on Twitter. I never expected that conversation to get so many eyeballs or so much attention. By contrast, I recently published a debate with David Frum on marijuana legalization that I consider the best single piece of content I have published to date. But, for whatever reason, it did not get nearly as much attention as I had expected.

I am passionate about finding better ways to have public, nuanced dialogue where the debate teaches us something new about the two opinions. That’s what interested me about the conversation with David Frum, and it is why I am excited about my guest this week, Jeffrey Tayler, who is a contributing editor at The Atlantic and the author of seven books including Topless Jihadis: Inside Femen, The World’s Most Provocative Activist Group (affiliate link). Jeffrey recently wrote a piece in Salon arguing that Justice Scalia is unfit to serve on the basis of his religious beliefs.

I do not agree.

But, I found the argument thought provoking, so I invited Jeffrey on to ATL to discuss his post with me and find out not only where we disagree, but where we see eye-to-eye as well. Or perhaps, he will simply shame me publicly with superior logic and intellect.
