Goat-Sacrificing Lawyer Making Headlines Again

Longtime readers were not surprised by the recent controversy surrounding a Florida lawyer.

I did sacrifice a goat. I know that’s probably a quibble in the mind of most Americans. I sacrificed an animal to the god of the wilderness… Yes, I drank the goat’s blood.

Augustus Sol Invictus, the Florida lawyer running for Marco Rubio’s Senate seat as part of the Libertarian Party of Florida, responding to recent controversy surrounding his use of ritualistic animal sacrifice. Invictus — his name means “majestic unconquered sun,” natch — is well remembered around Above the Law for his antics way back in 2013 when he renounced… everything, including his American citizenship, his law license and the Catholic Church, all while promising a violent revolution. I suppose being an also-ran for senate is what passes for a revolution these days.
