Are All Firms As Bad As F&D? A Conversation With 'Biglaw' Author Lindsay Cameron

An exchange of Biglaw war stories.

When I get together with other ex-Biglaw folks, the conversation always morphs into war stories. Biglaw war stories are a great way to seek closure and inner peace after a traumatic experience. My stories always seem to be the worst of the bunch. I’ve always concluded that it was because I’m soft, dramatic, and mentally weak. But I’d like to believe that maybe, just maybe, my stories are the most shocking because I worked in a particularly brutal department in a cutthroat firm.

A recent book, Biglaw (affiliate link), by former practicing attorney Lindsay Cameron, chronicles her time at fictional firm F&D — and might provide some evidence that it wasn’t all my fault. Here’s why: it turns out I worked at F&D. The partners and the atmosphere she’s describing are the exact same as mine. And here’s a first: Lindsay’s stories might be even worse. I had to find out more, so Lindsay joins me today for some more public war stories.
