Texas Attorneys Sing 'Don't Eat Your Weed' In Viral Lawyer Advertising Video

This quaint little country ditty has been getting airplay on radio stations across the country.

weed highway signDon’t eat your weed. That’s the gospel being preached by Will Hutson and Chris Harris of Texas general practice firm Hutson & Harris in the quaint little country ditty that’s been getting airplay on radio stations across the country.

Hutson and Harris urge prospective clients not to eat their weed during traffic stops in order to avoid additional criminal penalties. Per the WSJ Law Blog, “[p]ossession of less than two ounces of marijuana in Texas is a Class B Misdemeanor. But the charge can be elevated to a felony if a suspect attempts to conceal or destroy the pot in front of an officer, the duo advises in an intro to their YouTube video.”

With pitch-perfect harmonies, lyrics like “tampering with evidence, doesn’t make any sense, let the cops find your weed / there’s a kind of probation, called deferred adjudication, and there’s lots of other ways to plead,” and Hutson’s baritone vocal stylings reminiscent of those of country music star Josh Turner, you can’t lose with this video. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it (but as Hutson and Harris warn, don’t eat it).
