He believed that Wendi Adelson may be indirectly responsible for the murder of her ex-husband, Daniel Markel. When I informed him that Wendi was not a suspect, he stated ‘well, she should be.’

— A law enforcement report recounting a conversation between a Tallahassee police department investigator and Professor Jeffrey Lacasse of Florida State University. Lacasse once dated Wendi Adelson, the ex-wife of FSU law professor Dan Markel, who was murdered two years ago. Lacasse described a dinner a few weeks after Markel’s killing, supposedly held to “celebrate” the death, where Wendi Adelson vomited on the table, which Lacasse found suspicious.
