TV Star Dating New York IP Associate

Good things can happen when you step out of your law firm office...

teddy-bear-toy-holding-a-heart-on-white-background-300x200Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler likely watched this election with a deep sense of déjà vu. After all, her wonkish Leslie Knope squared off in a hotly contested election against the slow-witted scion of a wealthy family, watching as her competence never seemed to give her the advantage she’d expected. The seasonal arc should provide bitter fodder for former Clinton staffers.

Especially the part where Leslie wins because she actually bothers to talk to people in the Midwest.

In any event, the comedian, actress, and producer is reportedly dating attorney Benjamin Graf, an associate at Merchant & Gould (This is a cached version of his bio, the firm appears to have taken it down temporarily).

Per Us Weekly, the couple have been dating for some time, but only recently has anyone been able to get some degree of certainty about the relationship:

The NYC-based attorney at Merchant & Gould specializes in trademarks and patents, according to his company bio. “When he is not trying to be an inventor himself, Ben enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, tennis, cooking and exploring new cities and countries,” his bio says.

Not too many law firm bios include the term “Ultimate Frisbee” since, you know, it’s less a sport than a euphemism for college day drinking. I probably should have used that in my bio instead of “keg stands,” which my firms never fully appreciated.

This should give hope to lowly associates everywhere. You may be chained to your desks, hammering out work product late into the night, but there’s always a chance that once you emerge out from behind your desk you could end up with an accomplished Hollywood star.
