We at Lateral Link and Cadence Counsel wish you a Happy New Year. Since we had a remarkable 2016 (and hope you did so as well), we’d like to highlight eight of our achievements that we hope to surpass in 2017:
1) 250+ placements. Lateral Link (our Law Firm Division) and Cadence Counsel (our In-House division) collectively and successfully placed around 250 candidates at top law firms and corporate legal departments nationwide.
2) Opened in Houston. Led by Larry Scott, we opened a Houston, TX, office covering the various Texas legal markets. We are extending our Texas $10k Placement Bonus through Q1 of 2017 given our Lone Star State success.
3) Our largest and smallest offers are $6mm apart. Our largest offer for any single candidate exceeded $6mm while our smallest offer for a candidate is around $140k in compensation. That delta is more than $6mm apart for a single attorney.
4) Heads of groups to general counsels. We successfully placed candidates at the top, including heads of practice groups and general counsels.
5) Five promotions. We promoted five of our recruiters this year across various regions, including a new Co-Managing Principal of Lateral Link, Ryan Belville, and Managing Principal of Cadence Counsel, Sarah Morris.
6) $1mm in bonuses. We paid out around $1mm in performance bonuses to around 30+ recruiters who already earned 50-70% commissions on their placements. We set the ceiling on compensation in the legal recruiting space.
7) Giving back. Our entire team has successfully given back to my alma mater, Harvard Law School.
8) 10-year anniversary. We celebrated 10 years (and over a thousand placements in between) at the California Club in Los Angeles.
Although we are proud of our achievements, we plan to exceed them in 2017. Happy New Year to our clients, candidates, colleagues, and friends. We wish you the best as well.
