Here was the email of the week, routed to me through my family:
Elie, I object to your classification of Matlock as only appealing to old people. I am 63 years old. And I can say that Matlock teaches a lot of values that young people would do well to emulate. While the pace of the show is not as go-go with all of the quick cuts you have in your CSI, the more reserved filming allows the viewer to take in these lessons at a comfortable pace. There is no nudity or cussing. It is just a good, clean, family show.
It appeals to me! And I happen to be very old. To say that it doesn’t also appeal to younger people… wait. Damn. I think I just had a senior moment. Sorry.
So, yeah. Here’s the other reason why I’m voting for Bobby: bottom line, Bobby Donnell would steal Ben Matlock’s nitroglycerin pills if he thought it would help him win the case.
