Legal Is Changing. And NeoSummit Is Where The Future Is Being Built.
Legal and operational leaders are gathering May 6–7 in Fort Lauderdale to confront the questions the industry hasn't answered—with a keynote from Amanda Knox setting the tone.
Did you know that last week, 251 people said they preferred Judge Dredd to Lionel Hutz? No, I’m being serious. Think about that the next time somebody tells you “everybody deserves the right to vote.”
In any event, this week’s Hutz contender is a little more reasonable. Harvey Dent is one of the most famous lawyers in all of comic book history.
But the disturbing thing, for attorneys at least, is that Dent represents how most of the rest of the world see lawyers: as two-faced villains. People who with the flip of a coin can be defenders of justice or agents of evil. People who can look slick or hideous depending on which light you catch them in. Harvey Dent is how a “real” hero like Batman sees lawyers, and they’re something for the citizens of Gotham to beware of.
At least, that what I think lawyers are all about. I saw an episode of Matlock in a bar last night. The sound was down, but I think I got the gist of it.
