Lawyers and Law Firms Contribute To Hurricane Sandy Relief and Recovery Efforts

Subject: Weil’s Hurricane Relief Efforts

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, we are all terribly saddened by the devastation that has struck New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and the surrounding areas. There is unimaginable damage to numerous communities and many members of the Weil family, and their families and friends, have been personally affected.

In order to assist with the relief efforts, the Firm will immediately make a contribution of a total of $200,000, spread among three organizations – the American Red Cross, AmeriCares and the Salvation Army.

In addition, the Firm will match Partner and employee contributions up to a total of $200,000 for donations made to the above-noted organizations, or similar charitable organizations dedicated to the hurricane relief efforts. Websites for the organizations to which Weil is contributing, and additional suggested relief organizations/funds are listed below.

If you wish to make a personal donation and have it qualify for the Firm’s match, please proceed as follows:

1. Donate directly online through the organization’s website and send a copy of the receipt to [redacted] or forward [redacted]your e-mail confirmation of the donation; or

2. Donate by check directly to the organization and send a copy of the receipt acknowledging your contribution to [redacted].

Those of you in the European and Asian offices are also encouraged to contribute to one of the below organizations or to a similar organization that is assisting with Hurricane Sandy relief.
