Lawyerly Lairs: Immigration Lawyer Cashes Out To Poker-Playing Pair — For A Million-Dollar Profit

An immigration lawyer sells his fabulous pad for $3.6 million. How much did he pay for it?

Here’s the listing, by Bertte Nader and Sarah Burke of Douglas Elliman:

Beautiful three-bedroom, two and a half bath home in acclaimed Costas Kondylis-designed, 200 Chambers. With over 2200 square feet, this apartment features East, South and West exposures, with floor-to-ceiling windows, light and sweeping views. With a corner living room, open kitchen, custom built-in wall unit three large bedrooms, great closet space with custom doors, two and half gorgeous renovated baths, and honey oak hardwood floors, this property has been perfectly maintained.

200 Chambers is a full service condominium, 24-hr attended lobby, wonderful concierge staff and doormen. Amenities include a welcoming courtyard waterfall garden, an 8th floor landscaped roof top terrace, and 50-foot sky lit indoor lap pool. A state-of-the-art gym is on the 7th floor and the childrens playroom and residents lounge on the 6th floor. Located conveniently to everything TriBeCa has to offer from easy subway access to the Whole Foods at your doorstep.

Not everyone’s a fan of that courtyard garden; a commenter of Curbed carped that it “resembles the plaza design of a New Jersey suburban office building,” with its “puny” waterfall. But the building overall does sound delightful.

And the corner living room does boast the promised “light and sweeping views” (click to enlarge):

The “open” kitchen is really, really open. Check out that vast expanse; you could fit a much larger dining table in there if you wanted to:

I also like how the dining area has two exposures. The apartment enjoys tons of light and a loft-like feel.

The bedrooms are perhaps less spectacular than the public areas, but still nothing to scoff at….
