Never really understood why someone would run for student leadership in law school. It’s not like undergrad (where I also didn’t get it) where you could argue the post might impress, well, law school admissions folks. Once you’re in law school, the only people you need to impress are your potential employers, and the law school activities they care about are, in order:
1. Law Review.
2. Other law journal/Moot Court.
3. That is all.
Not that SBA isn’t important — somebody has to inform the student body when Above the Law is coming to town to offer them free drinks — but it’s a job that depends on true-believing law students who really care. Or served on student leadership since elementary school and just refuse to grow up.
Chrometa: Turning Time Into Billable Value For Modern Lawyers
Adoption of Chrometa represents more than a technological upgrade; it reflects a professional philosophy that values accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
Down at the University of Miami School of Law, Matt Deblinger, a candidate for SBA President decided to make a cheesy campaign video. It’s like Reagan ’84 meets SBA PSA meets high school comedy routine, which ultimately makes the whole thing kind of entertaining, actually.
While there are some thematic callbacks, this is much better than Deblinger’s prior campaign video for SBA Secretary. Like, we get it, you enjoyed the movie Ted.
Good luck on your quest to be SBA President, Matt. As they say in Miami, first you get the money, then you get the power. The women are probably right around the corner.
