The challenges facing women in the legal profession are well-documented. Especially here at ATL where we’ve covered everything from sexist dress codes to senior attorneys disrespecting maternity leave, and those are just the firms. We’ve not even gotten to the flak female lawyers take from judges or from the media — including this publication struggling to find stock images that aren’t painfully stereotypical.
So when Law360 boasts that they’ve worked out the top 100 firms for female attorneys, it gets our attention. Law 360 created its ranking with something of a black box algorithm looking at female representation at both the partner and non-partner level and the firm’s total number of female attorneys. Those leading the pack have impressive track records — in most cases with female non-partners outnumbering male non-partners, which Law360 identifies as a potential pipeline for future talent.
