Re: Policy on Billable-Hour Credit for Pro Bono by US Associates
To reflect the firm’s longstanding and substantial commitment to pro bono, and in furtherance of the Empowering Girls and Women Initiative launched earlier this year, the Pro Bono Policy applicable to associates in US offices has been revised as follows. Under the new Policy, effective immediately and retroactively applicable to the 2014-2015 associate compensation year:
Keeping Law School Accessible When Federal Loans Fall Short
As federal borrowing caps tighten financing options for law students, one organization is stepping in to negotiate the terms they can't secure alone.
- Associates devoting between 1,800 and 1,850 hours to billable matters during the associate compensation year will receive billable-hour credit for up to 100 hours of pro bono work performed during the same period.
- Associates devoting at least 1,850 hours to billable matters during the associate compensation year will receive billable-hour credit for all of their hours of pro bono work performed during the same period.
- The Pro Bono Fellowship Program will remain in place. For more information about the Fellowship Program and eligibility for Fellowship Program status, please visit US Pro Bono Fellowship Program Memo.
Please contact the Pro Bono Partner if you have any questions.
Our sincere thanks to all lawyers for their outstanding support for the firm’s pro bono efforts.
