Associate Bonus Watch: Another Market Match — Or More — For Associates Who Made Their Hours

The additional bonuses, paid on top of market bonuses, ran as high as $30,000.

Biglaw bonus money cash crowdfunding capital litigation financeLast year, Winston & Strawn paid New York City bonuses (i.e., Davis Polk bonuses) to qualifying associates in NYC. This year, the firm is paying the New York scale (i.e, Cravath bonuses) to qualifying associates in all of its U.S. offices.

We didn’t get a copy of the memo — if you happen to have it, please send our way — so we reached out to Winston for confirmation. The firm responded as follows:

Yes, this information is correct. In addition to the New York market (i.e., Cravath) scale in U.S. offices, the firm also paid additional bonuses (on top of the regular bonuses) to associates who met defined hours thresholds above 2,000 hours. The highest of those additional bonuses was $30,000.

Very nice. Congrats to Winston associates on these rewards for their hard work.

If you have bonus news that we have not yet covered — even if it’s a little old (Winston bonuses came out in early February) — please email us or text us (646-820-8477). As you know, we are trying to build as comprehensive a repository as possible of bonus information and memos. Thanks.
