Subject: Associate Bonuses
Today we announced Associate bonuses in all of our U.S. offices. For the sixth consecutive year following the redesign of our merit-based system in 2010, we are pleased that a substantial number of our U.S. Associates have been awarded bonuses that exceed the New York market scale (i.e., the Cravath scale). In fact, this year 55% of our U.S. Associates will receive bonuses in excess of the Cravath scale including Associates in each of the seven compensation class years in which we award bonuses. The bonuses in several classes exceed the Cravath scale by as much as $45,000.

Individual bonus determinations are based on an evaluation of an Associate’s performance that includes a comprehensive assessment of quality as well as the Associate’s productivity.
On behalf of the Management Committee that approved these bonuses earlier this week, I want to thank our Associates for the significant contribution they make in serving our clients. We are delighted to be able to reward their hard work in this way.
