Answer: Elihu. Elihu Root, a Nobel Peace Prize-winning statesman and lawyer, took an “Of Counsel” gig at Root Clark, an early Biglaw firm founded by his son, Elihu Root Jr. Root Clark would ultimately become Dewey Ballantine and then Dewey & LeBoeuf and then flaming rubble.
