Management Attorney Allegedly Runs Over Striking Workers, Turns Into Evil Caricature
One Verizon attorney allegedly decided to get his GTA3 on.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock since Wednesday, you are probably aware that 40,000 Communications Workers of America employees began a strike against Verizon. It is one of the largest collective action moves in the last five years, and comes after months of fruitless negotiations. You can imagine the situation is a tense one, with the stakes, and emotions, particularly high.
But one picket line incident from Maryland takes an acceptable amount of passion and turns it into cartoon villainy. One Verizon attorney allegedly decided to get his GTA3 on and plow his luxury car into striking workers. That’s right, there are reports a management attorney took his Porsche and hit two people on the picket line.

The poetry of the moment was not lost on union officials, reporting on the incident in their newsletter, along with this photo:
Two members of CWA Local 2108 at the Gaithersburg, Md., garage were hit by a Verizon management attorney driving his Porsche. That says it all, doesn’t it?
According to CWA, one of the workers was taken to the hospital to treat injuries after being hit.

Though reports indicate at this time Verizon is denying the incident:
Despite the photo, a spokesman for Verizon denied that anything happened.
“We have found zero evidence supporting these claims,” Raymond McConville told TeleSur.
“There have been no formal complaints filed and no arrest records.”
Maybe there are two sides to this story, but it sure seems like management has a “take no prisoners” mentality.
